If you notice your furnace turning on and off way too often, and blowing cold air when it’s running, then there’s usually a circulation issue somewhere.
The problem, ultimately, is that heat is not escaping the system the way it should. Your furnace burns gas and produces heat. Then, it moves the now-warm air out of the unit and into your home.
But, furnaces can’t store heat for too long, or they’ll get damaged. So if the heat can’t escape, it turns off to prevent damage. It will also send a gust of cold air through the system to cool off anything in danger of overheating.
Common causes are a clogged air filter, furniture in front of the vents, or a heater that’s too big for your home. All these factors cause heat to back up into the system. And, it’s a problem you’ll want to address quickly. Otherwise, those constant temperature shifts and extra work will cause a breakdown.
Has your heating system been breaking down more often lately? Are your energy bills getting higher and higher, especially in the winter? If so, maybe it’s time to consider solar power and high-efficiency heating and cooling for your Bloomingdale, IL home.
Thanks to today’s high-tech heat pump technology, it’s possible to keep your home exceptionally comfortable all year long — and barely pay a dime for it!
You can do it by using solar panels on your home to power an electric heat pump. These systems use a fraction of the power that conventional heating and cooling requires. And they act as a furnace and air conditioner.
One system does it all.
Admittedly, it’s a big jump from a gas or electric furnace with power from ComEd to going almost off the grid. But, you can go step-by-step to find the setup that makes you comfortable.
