You can read about these and other common air conditioner problems and AC issues in our Learning Library.
Most central air conditioning units last 15 to 20 years with proper maintenance. You’re more likely to hit the two-decade mark when you get annual clean-and-checks. On the other hand, a central air system that’s never maintained may not make it far past ten years of service.
When it’s time to look for a new air conditioner, it’s time to consider getting a heat pump instead! These HVAC systems provide better cooling and lower energy bills than conventional central air.
In other words, you’re more comfortable while using less electricity!
Whether you go with a mini split, ducted heat pump, or hybrid VRV system, a heat pump provides more constant, even cooling for better comfort. And the state-of-the-art technology behind today’s models makes them exceptionally energy-efficient.
